District Court Value Appeals

Given the various legal arguments available under the Texas Property Tax Code, the best argument and strategy for a particular client may differ depending on the unique characteristics of the property, the appraisal district, and legislation currently in effect. The Firm’s attorneys are well versed in the different legal and appraisal arguments used in advancing a property owner’s case. The Cox Law Firm’s property tax clients include owners of commercial office buildings, apartment complexes, hotels, retail shopping centers and malls, self-storage facilities, industrial, manufacturing and warehouse facilities, undeveloped tracts, and business personal property. The Firm also handles residential properties on a limited basis.
Property Tax Lending and Foreclosures
As part of its litigation practice, The Cox Law Firm also represents Texas tax lien lenders. Mr. Cox serves as of counsel to the law firm of Harrison & Duncan PLLC (H&D), a San Antonio based law firm with extensive experience in representing Texas tax lien lenders, and The Cox Law Firm serves as local counsel for H&D’s collection, foreclosure and other tax lien lender-related matters in Harris and surrounding counties. Such representation includes both judicial foreclosures and non-judicial foreclosures, including those requiring special orders (Rule 736) prior to the sale and Tax Code Chapter 33 judicial foreclosures.
